HOW TO GET THERE
In addition to the directions on Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, here are some more helpful hints that you may not know if you are not from our area.
If you are coming to Québec from outside of Canada, please ensure you have a valid passport, and in some cases a visa, as per the entry criteria from the Canada Border Services Agency. US Citizens need a photo ID and proof of citizenship (i.e. birth certificate) or a permanent resident card. Please visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website for further details.
Arriving by Air
The largest airports servicing our area are of course Montreal, New York City, and Toronto. Travel time is based on Google Maps from Québec City airport. Flight frequency is based on the Jean-Lesage International Airport website.

Directions from the Jean Lesage International Airport
- From terminal, to end of access road, right on 'Route de l'Aéroport'
- Route de l'Aéroport on to Freeway 540 south (Boul Duplessis)
- At the end of 540 south, exit Boul. Laurier
- Boul. Laurier becomes Grande Allée and then rue St-Louis (inside old city)
- The Fairmont Le Château Frontenac is at the end of this street on the right-hand side. Indoor Valet Parking is $34 CAD per 24-hour period, including in and out privileges.

Drive time: 30 min.
Arriving By Car
Highway 20 (autouroute Jean-Lesage) runs along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, and Highway 40 (autoroute Félix-Leclerc) is the north shore access to the city.

Arriving By bus
The Québec bus station is located at 450 rue de la Gare du Palais, at a 5 minute drive from The Château Frontenac.

GETTING AROUND IN TOWN
On foot
Québec City's historical Upper Town and Lower Town districts are easy to explore on foot.
Taxi
Québec City area taxis can be identified by the sign on their roofs. There are several companies. We suggest that you call one of them and they will send a car. You can also get a cab at one of the various taxi stands in the city.
Public Transit (local buses)
Réseau de transport de la capitale (RTC)
The RTC serves Québec City, Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Wendake, and Ancienne-Lorette. The Côte-de-Beaupré, Île d'Orléans, Jacques-Cartier, and Portneuf areas are not part of RTC territory.
The Parcours 21 route serves the Upper Town and the Old Port area and connects to the ferry terminal.

Car
Car rentals can be a practical way to visit areas less than an hour from downtown, such as Île d'Orléans, Côte-de-Beaupré, Jacques-Cartier, and Portneuf regions. Information on vehicle and parking regulations.

Ferry
The ferry links Québec City and Lévis 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It sails on the hour and half-hour during the day and on the half-hour at night.
